# How can I apply a promo code to my account?

###### **Here's how you can apply a discount code to your account -  whether you're signing up, upgrading, or already an active customer.**

## New Sign-Ups & Plan Upgrades
###### 

1. Log in and go to the Plans page: [https://app.optery.com/plans](https://app.optery.com/plans)
2. Choose your billing term (Yearly or Monthly) and click "Upgrade" on the plan you'd like
3. Add your payment method first
4. Click "Proceed with a New Card" and enter your card detailsOnce added, your card will appear under payment methodsNote: you'll need to add your payment method first in order to see your total discounted price
5. On the right panel, turn on "Have a promocode?" Enter your code and click Verify
    * Make sure you see the discount reflected in the total
6. Click Confirm Purchase to complete your upgrade. The discount will be applied before checkout once the code is verified.

## Already an Active Customer? Add a Promo Code Anytime -  No New Purchase Needed
If you have an active Personal Plan subscription, you can now add a promo code directly from your account:

1. Log in and go to the Account's page
2. Click **Plans & Billing**
3. Under Billing Information, click **"+ Add Promo Code"**
4. Enter your code and click **"Verify Promo Code" .** 

|| Note: The discount will apply starting with your next billing date.

## Who Can Use Self-Serve Promo Code Entry?

* ✅ Active Personal Plan (individual) subscriptions
* **❌ Optery for Family** plans - Family plans already include a built-in discount, so a separate promo code can't be added. * **❌ Business / Corporate** accounts - not eligible for this feature.
