# How to switch between light and dark theme?

Optery provides Light and Dark display themes for the user interface.  This is sometimes referred to as "dark mode" or "light mode".

**Steps to Change Theme:**

1. Access your profile menu (typically by clicking your username/icon, often in the top-right corner) and In the profile menu, find the theme setting (e.g., labeled "Theme")

2. Choose your preferred theme:
    
* **Light Theme:** Light background, dark text/elements.
    
* **Dark Theme:** Dark background, light text/elements.

3. The interface will update to the selected theme, altering backgrounds, text, and element colors. This preference is saved for future sessions in the same device.
