# Signing the Limited Power of Attorney to make Optery your Authorized Agent for data broker removals

### Signing the Limited Power of Attorney is Optional, but highly recommended to maximize the effectiveness of Optery's removal requests as some data brokers reject requests that do not include a signed Limited Power of Attorney.

| By signing Optery's Limited Power of Attorney, you appoint Optery as your Authorized Agent for submitting your data rights requests. This is optional, but highly recommended to maximize effectiveness of Optery's removals. You can revoke the Limited Power of Attorney at any time.

# How to sign
* Go to [Manage Profile](https://app.optery.com/profile) profile page from your Dashboard, then open the [Power of Attorney](https://app.optery.com/profile?tab=power-of-attorney) tab

* Read the Limited Power of Attorney and confirm your Location of Residence. This matters because it determines which privacy laws apply to you, such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).

* Click "**Accept and Sign**". 

|| Signing this allows Optery to submit more complete requests on your behalf, which can improve both the coverage and success rate of removals.

# Revoking the LPOA
You can revoke the LPOA at any time from the same Power of Attorney tab, in the same place where you signed it, by clicking **Revoke Limited Power of Attorney**. Revoking stops Optery from submitting requests as your Authorized Agent going forward.

# FAQ
* **Do I have to sign the LPOA?**
No. It's optional. Signing improves removal success at brokers that require proof of Authorized Agent status, but your account works without it.
* **Does signing cost anything?**
No, there's no additional fee for signing or using the LPOA.
