My profile was removed from a data broker, but the link is still showing up in Google, Bing, Yahoo, or DuckDuckGo?

After a profile has been removed from a data broker, the link still may appear in Google's cached results for a few weeks before it ages out of their cache and is deleted.

Google offers a Removal Outdated Content Tool for submitting these links and having them removed from their cache on an expedited basis.

Optery now automatically submits outdated content removal requests to Google and Bing (including DuckDuckGo) for Ultimate Plan customers. You can read our Help Desk article Removing Outdated Links to Data Brokers with the Optery Ultimate Plan and Google’s Remove Outdated Content Tool for the terms on how it works.

If you'd like to remove the link(s) from Google's cache on an expedited basis, and you're not subscribed to the Optery Ultimate plan, you can submit the old link to your profile into Google's outdated content tool here:

After submitting the request to Google, they typically remove the information from the cached results within 1 - 3 days. However, actual results may vary.

Similarly, you can remove outdated links from Bing, Yahoo, and DuckDuckGo using Bing's content removal tool. Yahoo and DuckDuckGo utilize Bing's search technology, so the content removal tool for Bing also works for Yahoo and DuckDuckGo. You can learn more here:

As of November 2024, Optery automatically submits content removal requests to Bing (including DuckDuckGo) for Ultimate Plan customers, similar to the Google Remove Outdated Content Tool. This service is now included for Ultimate Plan subscribers, with no need for manual submissions.
