Do Not share your personal email or pay any money to data brokers linked to from Optery

In order to provide all users with options for removing themselves from data brokers for free, we link to data broker pages where opt outs can be submitted self-service.

WARNING: Exercise extreme caution when visiting these data broker sites and we recommend you NEVER share your personal email or pay any money to data brokers linked to from the Optery site.

TIP: When contacting these companies for opt out removals directly, or anything else, we highly recommend creating a disposable email address for temporary use, and NEVER using your primary email address, as just reaching out to them often adds you to their email marketing lists. You can learn more about using a disposable email address here:

https://www.optery.com/using-a-disposable-email-address/

A disposable email address really just means an email address that is not your primary email address, and is not important for you to keep private. For example, you might like to create a new Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail, AOL, etc, email address, for the sole purpose of submitting opt out requests.

For example, you could register and use a new email address like this for submitting your opt outs: myprivacyoptoutrequests@aol.com

The main point we are trying to make, is we recommend you do not use your primary email address to submit opt out requests to data brokers, otherwise, it's likely they will take your email address, and add it to their marketing lists.

Alternatively, if you sign up for a paid plan from Optery, we will create private emails for you and manage them behind the scenes for the purpose of submitting your opt outs.
