Coverage Limitations for Dishonorable Data Brokers like Radaris, Rocketreach, SocialCatfish and others

This page explains Optery's coverage limitations for Dishonorable Data Brokers like Radaris, Rocketreach, SocialCatfish and others

Whereas most data brokers comply with our opt out requests and opt people out of their databases without too much trouble, some data brokers like PeekYou, Radaris, and others are notoriously difficult, often make opt out requests exceedingly challenging, and/or do not fully comply with opt out requests. We refer to these data brokers as "Dishonorable Data Brokers". Because of these challenges, many competing services do not attempt to remove data from the brokers listed below. However, we prefer not to give them a free pass and continue to attempt removals with them.

Examples of Dishonorable Data Brokers that Optery does still cover despite their challenges and limited removal success rates:

411.info
AeroLeads
ConfidentialPhoneLookup
PeopleByName
Radaris
SignalHire
SocialCatfish
VoterRecords.com

Optery remains committed to evaluating and pursuing opt-out requests for even the most difficult cases. The following list of brokers are currently not covered due to prolonged non-compliance, but our team continues to test new methods of achieving successful removals. If progress is made, they will be reinstated into our coverage and removed from the list below:

AllAreaCodes
CallerCenter.com
ClassFinders
CocoFinder
FastPeopleSearch.io
FindPeopleFast.net
NDB.com
Peekyou
PeopleFinderFree
RealPeopleSearch
SearchPeopleFree.net
TruePeopleSearch.net
uFind.name
ZoSearch

Optery's persistent approach to Dishonorable Data Brokers

At Optery, we don’t give Dishonorable Data Brokers a free pass. We continue to push for removals through multiple channels, ensuring that your personal information is protected to the maximum extent possible. While these brokers are particularly resistant, rest assured that our service is actively processing recurring removal attempts in the background.

Through persistence and filing complaints with the Federal Trade Commision and State Attorney Generals offices, in many cases, we have been successful in removing profiles for our customers, but it often takes months of time and effort to achieve a "break through".

How Optery handles status updates to maintain transparency

To maintain transparency, for Custom Removal Requests, if there is no progress after exhaustive attempts, we update the removal status from "In Progress" to “Unsuccessful” to reflect that active work is no longer being done. This way, you always have a clear and honest view of where things stand.

We know this can be frustrating, but there are steps you can take to further protect your information. In the section below, we’ll walk you through additional actions you can consider.

Is there anything else we can do?

We recommend submitting complaints about dishonorable data brokers to the Federal Trade Commission through their ReportFraud.ftc.gov web site, and, for our California-based customers, to the California Privacy Protection Agency (CPPA) via their complaint submission function. Below are the links where you can do this:

Report Internet Privacy Fraud with the Federal Trade Commission's ReportFraud.ftc.gov

File a Consumer Complaint Against Non-Compliant Data Brokers with the California Privacy Protection Agency (CPPA)

We also recommend you write to your elected officials and demand they pass strict privacy legislation requiring businesses to comply with opt out requests, and to require stiff penalties when privacy laws are broken. In today's day and age, the right to opt out of data sales and exposure should be a basic human right.
