How do I configure my AI Model Preferences?
Data brokers and cyber attackers are leveraging AI at unprecedented rates, and their sophistication is exploding. Rather than sit idly while adversaries gain the upper hand by using AI, Optery is leveraging AI for good, using it for our industry leading personal data removal effectiveness.
Today, Optery uses AI to improve the accuracy of Removals Reports, and to process Custom Removals requests. Optery's use of AI also provides a highly intelligent feedback loop for identifying exposed profiles, thereby also increasing removals effectiveness, which is Optery's ultimate purpose.
Optery users have the flexibility to choose their AI Model Preferences from the Account Settings page, and you can learn more about each option below:
- Internal (default)
- External (OpenAI)
Internal (default)
- When the Internal option is selected, Optery uses a self-hosted model inside our private cloud for AI processing.
- Customer data is not used to train the model, and data transfer to third-parties for AI processing is not utilized.
- Customers generally select Internal when they do not want an externally hosted AI model involved with their account.
External (OpenAI)
- When the External (OpenAI) option is selected, Optery may use an externally-hosted third-party model provider for AI processing, which is currently OpenAI.
- For example, Removals Reports are generated initially using Optery's own proprietary technology, but with the External (OpenAI) option activated, Optery will also incorporate AI from OpenAI to improve the accuracy of Removals Reports. In this case, Optery sends OpenAI the customer's screenshots and data necessary to process the screenshots. However, only the screenshots and data necessary to process the screenshots are sent to OpenAI. The data sent to OpenAI to process the screenshots is currently: first name, middle name, last name, age, company name(s), and current and past cities, states, and countries, which is the same information already posted on the internet by data brokers and is what helps OpenAI analyze the screenshot images. Optery does not send phone numbers, email addresses, full street addresses, family members names, nor full birthdates to OpenAI.
- Optery does not provide any screenshots or data to OpenAI for the purpose of training AI models.
- Optery only sends the screenshots and data for the specific Removals Report that is actively being processed, and Optery never sends screenshots or data belonging to other customers during this process.
