How Optery Works for California Residents Under the California Delete Act

The California Delete Act (SB 362) is a state law that required the California Privacy Protection Agency (CPPA) to establish a centralized platform called the Delete Request and Opt-Out Platform (DROP) to serve as a one-stop place where California residents can submit their CCPA rights requests to data brokers registered in California.

The Delete Act allows an Authorized Agent like Optery to assist in a consumer's deletion request after the consumer has verified their California residency through the state-approved identity verification procedures.

While the state-managed DROP system is being finalized, Optery continues to be available to submit individual opt-out and deletion requests on your behalf directly to data brokers. Our list of data brokers includes companies that are not registered in California and may not be covered by or included in the DROP system.
