How does Expanded Reach work?
Optery's standard subscription plans (i.e. Core, Extended, Ultimate) are differentiated in the personal data removal industry with (a) automated direct opt out submissions via APIs and web forms, (b) verified removals with before-and-after screenshot pairs for proof-of-work verification, and for Extended and Ultimate, (c) a "humans + machines" approach combining the industry's most advanced opt out automation with expert human privacy agents to maximize removals effectiveness.
Optery also offers an Expanded Reach feature as an optional, free, add-on for all paying customers (i.e. Core, Extended, and Ultimate) that expands the universe of data brokers we remove you from significantly. Expanded Reach provides coverage for data brokers who do not yet meet Optery’s rigorous removal verification standards, but that still provide a viable opt out mechanism. Data brokers covered by Expanded Reach typically do not post and sell information publicly, but instead do so privately and in the shadows behind the scenes, and so it can be more difficult to provide verifiable opt out statuses. Although these data brokers are not as readily accessible as those who post information publicly, they still pose risks for data exploitation and harm, and so we recommend submitting opt out requests to them.
Similar to our Custom Removals feature, the Expanded Reach feature functions as staging area for piloting coverage for new data brokers. Over time, many Expanded Reach data brokers will become fully integrated for standard coverage and removal statuses in our Core, Extended, and Ultimate plans.
To enroll in Expanded Reach, you must first sign the Limited Power of Attorney which provides a more robust mechanism to get your profiles removed.
Maximizes the data brokers you're removed from.
Does not give a free pass to data brokers who sell your information privately, as opposed to the data brokers who do so publicly on the open web.
Helps develop opt out methodologies for the coverage of more data brokers in Optery's standard subscription plans (e.g. Core, Extended, Ultimate).
For the purpose of submitting your opt outs, may send your personal info (e.g. full name, city and state) to data brokers that didn't have it in the first place or that you don't care about. For data brokers currently covered by Expanded Reach, there's not an easy way to determine whether or not your profile is present at the data broker in the first place.
Ensure you are on a paid subscription plan (e.g. Core, Extended, or Ultimate) or visit https://app.optery.com/plans to upgrade. NOTE: If you're an Optery for Business Customer, your Administrator must first enable Expanded Reach as an option for your organization in order for you to have access to it.

That’s it! You can turn this off at any time to stop any future opt outs for data brokers on this list.
