What Optery does better than any other company, including Google, is help you quickly understand which people search sites (a type of data broker) have profiles on you and are exposing or selling your personal details to anyone in the world. Based on the information you provide when you sign up for Optery (e.g. first name, last name, middle name, birth year), we have assembled direct links to your exposed profile pages at the top data brokers.

What if a "View" link leads to an empty or not found page?

Clicking through and visiting the "View" links in your Dashboard is the first thing a new user should do after creating an account with Optery. These links direct you to our best initial attempt at finding pages about you at data brokers. Along with your first Exposure Report, this is a quick way to see how many data brokers are exposing your information online.

What is often confusing is that we display the “View” links for every data broker, regardless of whether we find your profile at the data broker or not. A subsequent iteration of our product will filter out the data broker “View” links if the profile is not found.

|| The "View" links are not intended to be perfect matches for your profile. Results will vary for each user, depending on your circumstances

Sometimes the "View" links are not perfect, and other people may be listed, or you might not be there at all, but in most cases, they allow you to quickly view a snapshot of where your personal details are exposed online. The quality of our results sometimes varies too, for example, if you have a common name like “John Smith” or “Mary Smith”, it might be difficult to find your profiles among many others with the same name. Whereas most data brokers comply with opt out requests and completely remove personal information from their web sites without too much trouble, some data brokers like PeekYou, Radaris, and others are notoriously difficult and do not fully comply with opt out requests. We refer to these data brokers as "Dishonorable Data Brokers". For this reason, most of our competitors do not cover Dishonorable Data Brokers like data brokers listed below:

We prefer not to give Dishonorable Data Brokers a free pass, and continue to pursue multiple channels to have our customers' profiles removed from these data brokers. However, in practice, this can result in these data brokers remaining in the "In Progress" state for many months, and some, possibility, indefinitely if we don't achieve a "break through".

Ultimate Plan Offers Best Effort Removals for Unsupported Data Brokers through Custom Removals Requests

A unique feature of the Ultimate plan is customers can submit Custom Removals Requests for additional data broker profiles not already covered by the Ultimate plan, and we will make a best effort to remove the profile, even though it is not officially covered on our official list of covered data brokers.

| Note: In practice approximately 75% of Optery's Custom Removals requests are successful in resulting in removing the personal information, but approximately 25% of the Custom Removals requests are unsuccessful.

Optery does not cover, and this procedure does not apply to, general web sites like blogs, news sites, celebrity sites, community web sites, personal web sites, discussion boards, forum web sites, pornography sites, wiki sites, photo sites, video sites, computer programming web sites, legal records sites, documents posted online (e.g. PDFs, TXTs), or social media sites like LinkedIn, Pinterest, Facebook, Snap, TikTok, Twitter, etc - Optery only removes from data brokers and people search sites.
